Mike Potts of Flightstore Appointed As Board Member of UKWA

The United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) has welcomed one of its long-standing members, Mike Potts of Flightstore, to the Board of the UKWA management team.  Mike was asked by Steve McFarlane and Roger Williams to stand for election on the strength of his ongoing commitment to improving standards in warehousing in general and "his unquenchable thirst for asking questions!"

Says Mike; "I wanted to become more actively involved at a higher level in the warehousing industry.  It's easy to join an organisation and become in effect a passive member.  So, I was delighted to be invited and naturally I accepted."

Mike's new role will encompass helping to grow membership and build awareness of the UKWA and when asked, working with new members to ensure that they embrace the ethics and policies of the UKWA in their businesses.

Flightstore Gets the Sack from Local Council!

Hot on the heels of a successful pilot with Crawley Borough Council, Gatwick based archiving and warehousing/distribution specialists Flightstore (www.flight-store.co.uk) are reporting a huge increase in demand for their environmentally friendly confidential document shredding and recycling services.

Flightstore currently distribute their distinctive white recycling bags (complete with tamperproof security seal) to local businesses for filling with confidential documents, unwanted files, literature and paper.  One quick phone call or e-mail to Flightstore and they pick up the sealed bags and arrange for the contents to be shredded.  The story doesn't end there…. The shredded material is then used to make paper and other paper-based goods.  The client is supplied with a certificate that details how the documents have been shredded and recycled and in what timeframe.

Flightstore Announce 3 Free Trials of "Bag It Don't Bin It!" Confidential Document Shredding And Recycling Service

Gatwick based archiving and warehousing/distribution specialists Flightstore (www.flight-store.co.uk) are offering a free two week trial to three local organisations to promote the environmental and business benefits of their "Bag It Don't Bin It!" confidential document shredding and recycling service.  It follows a hugely successful trial with Crawley Borough Council that has now been rolled out.

How does it work?  Flightstore drop off their white and blue bags, complete with tamperproof seal, for customers to fill with their unwanted confidential documents, paperwork and files.  Flightstore then collect the bags; their contents are shredded (in accordance with legislation/ISO?) before being recycled back into paper and paper-based goods.
